Synopsis : Sonia est douanière dans un petit village frontalier du Québec. Lorsque sa fille Lili-Beth s’inscrit au concours des Petits chefs, la mère craint que sa progéniture ne soit de nouveau victime d’intimidation, elle qui, de plus, n’a aucune expérience en cuisine. Sonia réussit à convaincre Victor, un chef français vivant à New York avec qui le premier contact ne s’est pas très bien déroulé, de montrer à sa fille les rudiments de la cuisine, et de lui apprendre un plat qui pourrait l’aider à l’emporter. Lorsque la recette pratiquée par Lili-Beth se révèle un véritable délice, tous les habitants – d’abord réticents à l’idée d’aider Sonia – se rangent derrière la nouvelle fierté de la région.
Synopsis : In a remote village somewhere on the border between Quebec and the United States, the unyielding customs officer Sonia confiscates the contents of the car belonging to Victor, a French chef living in New York and in need of recognition. She soon regrets it when her daughter, Lili-Beth, decides to take part in a Petits Chefs competition, in which she seems to have little chance of winning. The intractable Sonia then decides to try everything in her power to enlist the help of the charming but exasperating Victor. This more-than-improbable encounter will bring the whole village together to get past their differences and get a taste of what’s essential.
