Sale of artifacts from L’Espace sous le pont, which have been preserved since 2006

The context:

Visions Ouest Productions (VOP) was located in a magnificent loft measuring over 4,000 square feet dating back to the industrial era, a small building under the Granville Bridge, until December 2006. It was Alain Dubreuil who created in 1994-1995 this exceptional space, a true architectural treasure in the heart of the city, incorporating elements from multiple buildings and developing, at the same time, a film studio at the Versatile Shipyard in North Vancouver.

First known as Imagination Market, then Espace Dubreuil, Espace sous le pont was a popular venue for film crews and a space for opera and jazz evenings, as well as a reception venue for the Rendez-vous du cinéma québécois et francophone. VOP’s Bridgetown Project was launched in 2003, in the spirit of social enterprise, with the aim of developing a unique cultural venue in time for the 2010 Olympics.

After three years of legal battles and mobilization by Vancouver’s artistic community, VOP was forced to leave the premises. The City of Vancouver, which owned the building, then condemned it for eight years before demolishing it in December 2014.

Preserving memories for 16 years

All the artifacts that VOP recovered from Space in December 2006 were then preserved until September 2009 in what would later become La Fabrique St-George, at the corner of 7th Ave and Ontario.

Since September 2009, VOP had occupied space in a house in the Mount Pleasant neighborhood for storage, archival preservation since 1994, BC Youth Circus equipment, film equipment, projectors, screens, the VOP documentation center, and, most importantly, for welcoming and hosting guests of the Film Festival and circus camps.

This place also served as a workspace and meeting place. The house was put up for sale in late spring 2025, and an eviction notice is currently in effect: VOP must vacate the premises by September 30 and find another location to secure its equipment.

VOP is calling on all networks and partners, for its sales and fundraising campaign!

The sale of objects, furniture, cinema decor items, equipment, and architectural artifacts from the Space will help offset the costs associated with relocation and equipment renewal.

Some items are already posted on Facebook Marketplace: Mirror | Standing bar | Architectural door | César bust | Others will be added: Wooden columns | Lectern | Table | Vintage follow spot | Beams | Collection of works by sculptor Davide Pan |

A catalog will be set up on this website to sell the objects and artifacts. A pop-up store will also be advertised in the coming days.
